Integrity and Inner Collectedness

Integrity in Attention OS is not a mystical state and not the image of a perfect person. It is the ability of attention to remain collected and not fall apart under constant external and internal influence.

Integrity without mysticism

In the context of the Castaneda tradition, integrity can sound almost like a higher state. Attention OS translates this more simply: a person becomes more whole when their attention is less scattered, less captured by automatic patterns, and more often available for chosen action.

This does not mean that a person stops feeling emotions, desires, anxiety, irritation, or vulnerability. Integrity does not cancel a living psyche. It means that a separate state less often takes over control completely.

Integrity is the ability of attention to remain collected and not fall apart under the constant influence of the environment.

Fragmented attention means fragmented life

The modern environment constantly fragments attention: notifications, feeds, short-form content, news, conflicts, comparison, purchases, other people's expectations. Internal processes are added to this: inner dialogue, self-importance, anxiety, tails, dependencies, and habitual scenarios.

When attention is constantly scattered, life also begins to feel scattered. A person does one thing, thinks about another, is emotionally stuck in a third, is physically in a fourth, and part of the resource is still held by an old episode.

External fragmentation

The environment pulls attention through frequent stimuli and competing demands.

Internal fragmentation

Inner dialogue, self-importance, anxiety, and tails hold parts of attention in different places.

Loss of direction

It becomes harder to hold chosen action, relationships, work, and presence.

What it means to become more whole

To become more whole does not mean to always be calm. It means to notice more precisely: right now I am feeling an emotion, right now an impulse is trying to manage me, right now inner dialogue has started, right now the self-image has been touched, right now part of attention remains in a tail.

A person remains one personality, but in different captures they can do things they later regret. Practice is not needed to forbid these states, but to see them in the moment more often and return the right to choose.

I am feeling an emotion, but I have a choice in how to respond.

Integrity and personal power

Personal power is the availability of attention for a chosen direction. Integrity is a broader sense of collectedness that appears when attention stops constantly leaking into automatic processes.

The less attention is occupied by inner arguments, defense of the self-image, anxious scenarios, dependencies, and unfinished tails, the more resource a person has to stay in contact with reality and act from a chosen direction.

How practice gathers the person

Attention OS gathers a person not through one big decision, but through many small returns. A capture is noticed - part of attention returns. Inner dialogue is named - distance appears. Self-importance is seen - the reaction is already less blind. A tail is noticed - the resource stops leaking completely unconsciously.

Counteractions, pauses, recording episodes, working with tails, review, and information hygiene gradually reduce automaticity. This is not an instant transformation, but an accumulation of experience: I can avoid giving myself completely to every impulse.

Notice

See capture, inner dialogue, self-importance, a tail, or a dependent impulse as a process, not as all of reality.

Return

Free at least part of attention from the automatic movement.

Hold

Direct attention again into chosen action, contact, and life.

Integrity is not rigid control

It is important not to confuse integrity with total control. If a person tries to manage every thought, emotion, and reaction, the practice becomes a new form of tension.

Integrity in Attention OS is softer: not to be perfectly collected all the time, but to notice the scattering of attention more often and return without self-punishment. Freedom is not victory over emotions, but returning to the right to choose.

A bridge to the assemblage point

The theme of integrity leads to the next concept: the assemblage point in a modern interpretation. If attention, perception, emotions, and reactions are constantly assembled in the same automatic way, a person ends up in the same picture of the world again and again.

When attention becomes more collected, it becomes possible to stabilize a more integral model of perception and action. Not to magically change the world, but to participate differently in how a person assembles their reality through attention.

Integrity in Attention OS does not mean the absence of contradictions, emotions, or mistakes. It is the gradual return of collected attention and the ability to choose a response.
