Safety and limits

Honest boundaries are part of the practice

Attention OS invites a person to observe the movement of their own attention. It should not replace help, promise treatment, or become constant self-control.

What this practice is

It is a system of self-observation: a person marks moments of attention capture, notices possible leaks, tries a pause or another small return action, and over time sees their own repetitions.

What it is not

  • Attention OS is not psychotherapy or a medical service.
  • The app does not diagnose conditions and does not evaluate personality.
  • The method does not promise treatment for anxiety, depression, addiction, or any other condition.
  • It does not require suppressing emotions or being aware every second.

When professional help is needed

If experiences become unbearable, if thoughts of harming yourself or others appear, if substance use or another behavior feels out of control, or if your condition seriously interferes with everyday life, the method and the app are not sufficient help. Please contact a qualified professional or emergency service in your country.

Do not turn observation into pressure

Repeated attention capture is not a failure. Not making a record is not proof of regression. If the practice begins to increase anxiety, guilt, or compulsive self-monitoring, it makes sense to stop or simplify it and seek support if needed.

Freedom is not victory over emotions, but returning to the right to choose.

Boundaries with the environment

Information hygiene is part of practice safety. Reducing notifications, emotional noise, and automatic entry into feeds helps avoid demanding constant willpower where it is better to adjust the environment.

More on this in the article "Information Hygiene and the Modern Environment".

App privacy

According to the current app specification, records and new analytics work locally in the app. The functionality does not require external APIs, sending user records, or remote analysis.

If accounts, synchronization, cloud backup, remote analytics, or third-party services appear in the future, the privacy policy must be updated before those features are launched.
